This is part 2 of an informal logic proof argument that we can go from "I think, therefore I am," to the Ten Commandments by observation and logical deduction. In other words, we can use observation and 'right reasoning' to extrapolate a universal moral code, an objective moral standard that applies to all moral agents, everywhere, in all times. CLASS #544: Is Morality Universal and, If Not, How Can We Govern Ourselves?

If you look them up in the modern dictionary, you will be told that morality and ethics are interchangeable words/ideas tied to culture and are not universal in application. I couldn't disagree more. In fact, if there is no such thing as a universal moral law, then all law is an absurdity -- at best. At worse, they are an excuse to commit atrocities. The visible church suffers from a non-Scriptural understanding of what it means to be 'holy.' It isn't so much that the word is wrong as it is that the word has taken on a meaning that is disconnected from the Scriptural concept. Similarly, the modern understanding of 'clean,' 'good' and 'righteous' have also strayed from their Scriptural, Hebrew meaning.
